Kusudama significa "esfera medicinal".</strong><br /><br />Antiguamente no existian pastillas o antibióticos. Las personas usaban las hiervas para curar todo. Las tomaban en forma de jarabes, las usaban para bañarse, para flotar en la piel y arromatizaban el ambiente.<br />Los Kusudamas eran realizados con formas de flor o bouquet. Eran rellenados con hierbas y colgados arriba de la cama del enfermo porque creian que eso ayudaba que la persona mejorara. Con los mismos tacos se dan varias capas superpuestas, para conseguir diferentes formas.
